The goal of PREP is to assist parents in the religious education of children attending public schools in Kindergarten to Grade 7 and to prepare them to receive the Sacraments of Reconciliation and the Eucharist in Grade 2 and Confirmation in Grade 7.
PREP used to be known as CCD (Catechism Confraternity of Christian Doctrine or simply as "Catechism," and provides religious education to Catholic children attending non-Catholic schools.
Classes for children from Kindergarten to Grade 7, attending public school, or who are homeschooled, are held on Wednesday evenings at 6:30pm. PREP is an 8-year Religious Education Program.
Families are encouraged to register their children as they enter Kindergarten, however, we can help parents find solutions for children who have not received prior religious education, children returning after an absence from PREP, and youth ages 12-17 who have not yet received the Sacraments.
Our PREP classes run from October to May.
The preparation and celebration of the Sacraments of First Holy Communion and Confirmation require TWO YEARS of instruction.
